Hello!

My name is Anissa and I am delighted you are here! 
This blog has been brewing in my mind for a while, and as I've set time aside to focus on my word of the year, "untangle", I've discovered many topics considered to be taboo, particularly for the South Asian population, that should be openly discussed. 

 

The name "Deep Dish Thoughts" was inspired by my own nickname- "Anissa Pizza". This handle has helped me form friendships with some amazing people because we all connect over pizza and soul talks. I figured I might as well share the content online and think of a "cheesy" name to go along with it :)

Everything I write is written from a South Asian, POC perspective, so I ask that you keep an open mind to my content :) If there's anything feedback you'd like to share or topics you'd like to hear about, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'd love to collaborate and learn more about your story! 

 

Fun Facts about Me:

- I'm a SODA! (Sibling of Deaf Adults)
-I can speak 3 languages 

-I've traveled to 7 countries so far! 

-I enjoy painting landscapes

-I primarily work as a pediatric speech-language pathologist and enjoy helping others to find their voice! My students teach me more about the world we live in and it's a honor to work with them. 

-I'm a HUGE advocate for the neurodiverse population.
